Quality Manager
A: Purpose and Scope: The Quality Manager is responsible for overall management of a robust, proactive quality assurance program for the company. The quality assurance manager is responsible for insuring that all corporate activity, including internal and external processes, are accomplished in accordance with established standards and are reviewed for compliance and to foster continuous improvement.
B. Responsibilities:
- Ensure a comprehensive Quality Assurance program is established, implemented and monitored throughout.
- Establish and maintain records described in the FAA Repair Station Inspection Procedures Manual, ISO Manual and other supporting documents.
- Establish training events to meet all regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and designate personnel qualified to conduct training.
- Manage all internal and external FAA, EASA and ISO audits as well as all customer audits.
C. Key Tasks:
- Establish 14 CFR Part 21 Certificate for MAA.
- Manage the implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS) at MAA.
- Work with the management team to develop process control documents for existing and anticipated workloads.
- Establish, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance plans, policies and audit schedules with onsite personnel.
- Ensure inspection of incoming materials, parts and supplies for compliance with specifications.
- Ensure in-process inspections are accomplished as required. Follow-up as required.
- Ensure final inspection is properly accomplished on finished products prior to shipment.
- Assure proper calibration and documentation on all precision measurement and test equipment.
- Administer the inspection stamp program.
D. Organizational Relationships: The Quality Assurance Manager reports directly to the Site Director. The QA Manager serves as the FAA Chief Inspector for MAA and is responsible for those responsibilities as specified in the Repair Station Quality Manual.
E. Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate is desirable.
- Knowledge of FAA 145, UK 145 and EASA 145.
- Knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and Certificate Management Sections (formerly Manufacturing Inspection District Offices).
- 5 years of experience in Quality Management.
- Engineering degree a plus.
- Experience with audits associated with AS9100/9110 Quality Management System.
- Possess administrative and computer skills for word processing and database management.
- US citizenship is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data both in the form of drawings, and technical orders from a variety of military and civilian sources.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Fluency in English is required.
- Effective inter-personal skills.
