Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Senior Finance Director for our client, a social services nonprofit organization in Fairfield County, Connecticut. This role is on-site, full-time, and along the I-95 corridor.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a mission-driven Senior Finance Director to lead all financial operations, planning, and strategy. This Director will ensure the long-term financial health and sustainability of the organization, play a key role on the executive team, while supporting a culture of compliance, mission alignment, and transparency.
DUTIES:
- Guide strategic financial decision-making in alignment with organizational goals.
- Supervise finance staff and collaborate with program and fundraising teams.
- Lead all accounting functions: A/P, A/R, audits, reporting, and payroll.
- Oversee forecasting, financial analysis planning, and budgeting.
- Present financials to the Board of Directors and other executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit GAAP, IRS regulations, and funding requirements.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Masters and/or CPA preferred).
- Has held a current / most recent financial leadership role in a nonprofit organization for 3-5 years.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit finance, GAAP, and government contracts.
- Lead all accounting functions: A/P, A/R, audits, reporting, and payroll.
- Oversee forecasting, financial analysis planning, and budgeting.
- Preferred: Experience with Medicaid funding and state reimbursement systems.
- Proficient in financial systems (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Excel).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
In addition to a competitive base salary of $130,000 - $140,000 (DOE), our client offers generous time off, a 401(K) plan, and health, dental, and vision insurance, and an opportunity to work with an amazing team making an impact for the community at all levels.
