Job DescriptionTitle: Quality Assurance ManagerLocation: East Chicago, INReports To: Plant Operations ManagerDepartment: Quality AssurancePosition PurposeThe Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day quality of all production activities and the administration of quality control procedures. This role will also oversee a team of 5 direct reports and an overall staff of 43 individuals. This role serves as a technical resource to Plant Operations and acts as a liaison between Quality Control, Production, and Sales. The manager supports the development of product specifications in collaboration with customers and plays a key role in evolving quality systems infrastructure-including the training of personnel in its implementation.Essential FunctionsLead and maintain ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 17025 certificationsServe as the Management Representative for the company's Quality Management SystemsDevelop and implement QA/QC practices to ensure product complianceInvestigate claims and execute corrective actions per ISO/IATF guidelinesDesign and deliver quality training programs; manage training documentationStay current on updates to ISO/IATF standards and requirementsMonitor and report on plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Create and deliver weekly/monthly reports and presentations to leadershipSupport technical aspects of new product development and definitionManage HFI valuations and claims reserve submissions to accountingOversee timely disposition of non-conforming materialsContribute materials recommendations and process parameters for quoting activitiesDrive development and upkeep of APQP, FMEAs, and Control PlansMaintain cross-departmental communication related to complaint trendsProvide technical support to production and sales as neededManage departmental budget and ensure fiscal adherencePrepare Annual Operating Plans and reconcile variancesCoordinate claims litigation and quality-related legal proceedingsPosition RequirementsBachelor's degree in Quality Management, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in quality system implementation in manufacturing environmentsStrong expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and IATF 16949 systemsDeep understanding of cross-functional processes including Purchasing, Inventory, Product Development, Marketing, and LogisticsAbility to engage with customers at both technical and sales levelsExceptional organizational, planning, and communication skillsProven leadership experience, ideally managing teams of 10 or moreWillingness and ability to travel as requiredABOUT ACCURATE PERSONNELDo you need your next job fast?
