Overview:

Cincinnati State is seeking a talented financial professional to lead our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function. The ideal candidate will combine finance and accounting skills with analytic and query skills to improve the College's strategic decision-making and lead efforts to improve process efficiencies within the finance and accounting department. The position reports directly to the College's CFO and collaborates closely with the Controller, Bursar/Treasurer, and Purchasing/Grant Accounting teams.

The leader of FP&A will analyze data affecting the College's finances and provide strategic, tactical, and ad hoc insights into results and forecasts. Responsibilities include financial statement preparation, forecasting, supporting annual budgets, and recurring reports, reconciliations, and journal entries. There is significant opportunity to streamline processes and reporting within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university, preferably in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of FP&A experience.
• Experience in generating financial statements, extracting data from enterprise systems, querying databases, manipulating data in Excel, building financial models, and creating journal entries.
• Proficiency in manipulating financial data using Excel, ERP systems, and financial tools such as SQL, DAX, M Language, R, Python, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, and Informer.

Desired Competencies:

• Detail-oriented with curiosity to understand processes.
• Ability to work independently.
• At least 5 years of FP&A experience.
• Higher education experience, CPA, or post-graduate degrees are a plus but not required.

Additional Details:

Position Level: Senior Manager FP&A

Salary: $75,000/year
