Job Title: LDRP RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16, 18, or 20-week contracts available Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 4 years LDRP experience required License: Valid state license preferred Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Must-Have: Triage experience, baby nurse/transition experience Description: The position requires an LDRP RN. Candidates must be willing to cover 2 of the 3 winter holidays. First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment. Weekends are required. Floating within the hospital is expected, but floating to sister hospitals is not permitted. Candidates should be comfortable initiating NRP for low to moderate risk deliveries, including starting CPAP and PPV until help arrives. Skills required include circulating and recovering C-sections, IV starting, triage, and newborn transitions. The unit cares for low to moderate risk laboring patients, antepartum patients, and postpartum patients and their newborns. Triage services are provided in two triage rooms, and MSEs are conducted. The unit has 14 rooms with a capacity of 28 beds. Daily census averages around 5 patients, with 2 visits per day. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
