Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP Must-Have: Ability to work in LDRP setting Description: We are seeking a dedicated RN specializing in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. The unit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU. On average, RNs care for 4 to 6 patients daily. Patient types include Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care. The staffing ratios are as per AWHONN Guidelines: 1:2 for inactive labor, 1:1 for active labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets. Skills required include labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management. Support is provided by a charge nurse available 24/7. Phlebotomy services are available for peripheral blood draws. Respiratory therapy is on-site 24/7. A hospitalist is also available 24/7 for newborn care. Fetal monitoring and telemetry technology are utilized in the unit. The electronic medical record system in use is Epic. Travelers will be required to float to facilities within the region and in accordance with their scope of practice. Floating may occur mid-shift, and travel time will be compensated. Weekend rotations are expected every other weekend with no call responsibilities. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. RTO of up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays.
