Pay Information $2,150 per week About The Position Job Title: Med/Tele/PCU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights EOW Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - PCU experience - Ability to read cardiac strips - Tele/cardiac nursing experience - Epic experience preferred Description: This unit provides care for adult and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, and Covid with Bipap. Patients may also have general surgical histories related to cardiac issues or acute on chronic conditions. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights. PCU level care overflow will have a nurse to patient ratio of 1:3. RNs are required to titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, and Lasix. There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take a light patient load of 2-3 patients. Patient care techs are available with a target ratio of 1:10. RNs are responsible for troubleshooting respiratory equipment, including Bipap and similar devices. RNs are expected to read and interpret their own cardiac strips. Shifts consist of 7 am-7 pm or 7 pm-7 am. Weekend requirements are every other weekend, and holiday requirements are also every other holiday. Floating may occur to assist in other units, including full patient assignments. Scrubs of any color are permitted. There are 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation during the first week. This is primarily a tele/cardiac unit. Candidates must not be associated with other specified organizations. RTO must be submitted upfront, and additional requests will not be considered.
