Pay Information $2,126 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, Antepartum, Normal Newborn Care License: Compact License or applicable state license required Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BCLS, NRP required Must-Have: Strong skills in circulating, fetal heart monitoring, and IV starts Experience with vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and anesthesia Description: This role requires a Registered Nurse to provide care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and OB Triage. The candidate must float as needed between areas of patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-risk Antepartum and Labor and Delivery settings. They will perform procedures such as vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and circulating in the operating room. Administering blood and blood products, and managing drains, epidural pumps, and PCA pumps is part of the role. The candidate should be familiar with administering medications such as insulin and magnesium sulfate. The usual patient ratio is 1:1 to 3 patients per nurse. The nurse will work with a daily census of approximately 200-300 births per month. Adherence to infection control protocols and maintaining isolation precautions is mandatory. The nurse will be expected to assist with high-risk deliveries and recovery post-cesarean section. Knowledge in placing and calibrating intrauterine pressure catheters is essential. The candidate will need to manage central lines and administer IV medications including anticoagulants and antihypertensives. Supervisory references covering the required experience must be provided before employment. Candidates should expect to complete required modules prior to starting the role.
