The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care, and will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pregnant patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.- Float to different areas as needed, including Labor and Delivery, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Postpartum care.- Perform special procedures, including vaginal and cesarean deliveries, circulating in the operating room, starting adult IVs, and administering blood and blood products.- Utilize specialized equipment such as epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and support high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery cases.- Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting fetal heart monitoring and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) as needed.- Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.- Educate and support patients and their families throughout the labor and delivery process. Qualifications: - A current WA state license or active compact license.- Certifications required: AWHONN Intermediate, BCLS, NRP, and ACLS.- A minimum of two years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, including experience with high-risk patients.- Proficient in charting systems, preferably Epic.- Experience in teaching hospitals and familiarity with patient ratios in a Labor and Delivery setting. Skills: - Strong clinical skills in Labor and Delivery, including the use of intrauterine pressure catheters and sterile vaginal exams.- Ability to maintain isolation precautions and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support patients effectively. Work Environment: - The nursing staff will experience a modified staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 and may be required to float to various units as demand necessitates.- Daily census typically ranges from 200-300 facility births per month, providing a diverse range of cases and experiences.
