BLS certification is required. Description: This is a travel nursing position for an RN specializing in Medical-Surgical. The unit has 33 rooms available, accommodating up to 49 patients. It features some semi-private rooms. There are 62 staff members on this unit. During the day shift, there are 2 charge nurses, 2 technicians, and 6-7 RNs. During the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 1.5 technicians, and 5-6 RNs. The patient ratios are 4:1 during the day and 5:1 at night. The unit utilizes telemetry monitoring for patient care. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Procedures performed include wound care, occasional bowel programs, and light burn care. Ideal candidates will thrive in a busy floor environment. The unit specializes in caring for surgical flap patients and spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention. There is a partnership with the burn unit for the care of low-acuity burn patients. Seasonal census increases may require the use of semi-private rooms.
