About the position Position/Specialty: CT Tech The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) reports to the manager of CT and director of radiology. Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs high quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from newborn through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician Shift: Will work Fri-Sun, 3x12s 6:00a-6:30p Is on-call REQ? Yes on call rotation among staff members Monday-Thursday. Call is 5p-6a. They would be called if someone called out for their shift (usually 3rd shift) or if they get extremely busy and have multiple traumas come in and the tech working needs help. Call would not be every week; more like every 4-5 weeks. Will this traveler float between service lines? No Floating Req to Sister Facilities: No Required/Preferred Years of experience REQ: 1 year First-timers accepted: Yes National Certs REQ: BLS, ARRT (CT), SCRQSA (CT) Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT), as well as Computed Tomography and South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS also required. Minimum Training and Education: Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology or a student clinical rotation with ARRT certification by end of rotation. Pending State License accepted: No, must have in hand at time of start Radiation Badge REQ: Yes. Radiation badge MUST be provided by agency; MUSC does NOT provide radiation badges to travelers Special Requirements: We perform inpatient, outpatient (Friday only), ER and scheduled interventional cases (Friday only). Required skills: be able to start IV, Contrast, Biopsies, PACS system. Miscellaneous Open to accommodating block schedule? Approval prior to assignment but not guaranteed. Local Radius: 60 miles Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis at 10% less the posted bill rate RTO Restrictions for Client Offers: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs Guaranteed Hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a NEW or EXT assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
