Our purpose is to assist adults living with substance use disorders to improve their quality of life. Our clients may be homeless or struggling to maintain their housing; living in poverty; or may be challenged with mental illnesses in addition to their addictions. Position Description The position provides counseling services includes assessment and diagnosis, facilitation of treatment groups, individual counseling, case management services, coordination of care, and clinical documentation responsibilities. Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment, Intervention and Counseling:

Complete biopsychosocial assessments for individuals enrolling in Matt Talbot Center services to determine their current level of functioning and create diagnostic picture. Provide individualized and Trauma informed treatment to Matt Talbot Center clients. Case Management:

Provide on-going intensive case management services to individuals participating in treatment, including: referral, outreach and engagement, screening, connection to resources, and coordination of care. Housing Case Management and Care coordination with partnered housing/shelter sites:

Provide and/or arrange necessary crisis response and stabilization services. Respond to crises in a prompt, effective and collaborative manner. Other Responsibilities:

Demonstrate the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skill to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural situations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications SUDP or SUDPT certification with WA State Dept. of Health. (If SUDPT, first 50 hours of direct service have been completed.) Possess basic knowledge of working with Co-Occurring Disorders At least one year’s direct service experience in working with diverse populations. Understanding of DSM 5 diagnostic criteria for substance use disorder and ASAM Patient Placement Criteria. Criminal history/ Background checks are required prior to employment. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s level degree in a social services related field. Meet or exceed criteria for a Mental Health Professional (Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work, or related degree with 2 + years of relevant experience). Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, reach stoop, talk and hear or otherwise perform any number of physical activities that may be required in completing daily tasks. Continuing Education Requirements Must attend annual mandatory in-service and education programs.
