Title:
Thrift Shop Associate
Reports to: Thrift Shop Manager
Status: part-time to a maximum of 15-20 hours per week
Work Schedule: weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays
Salary: $16/hr.
Job Summary Reporting to the Thrift Shop Manager, the Thrift Shop Associate is responsible for providing excellent service to guests, sorting incoming products, receiving donations, and assisting the Shop Manager in maintaining store operations. The Associate will positively impact guests, donors, volunteers, and communities daily.
The ideal Associate is a retail enthusiast, service-oriented, able to maintain composure, communicate effectively, and build relationships internally and externally. They should be action-oriented, drive results, and pursue continuous self-development and learning.
This role involves physical activity within a hands-on environment, requiring movement through the operation while meeting daily goals. The store operates 7 days a week, with scheduling based on operational needs, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Duties And Responsibilities On the sales floor
Assist guests with shopping needs
Provide efficient checkout services
Promote sales and fundraising events
Maintain a neat and orderly sales floor and checkout area
Assist in setting up displays
Know current inventory to assist customers
Answer phone calls professionally
Replenish products
In Production Area
Receive and thank guests for donations
Unpack, lift, and move donation boxes and bags
Sort donations by quality and condition
Assist with space planning for inventory
Price items as per manager’s guidelines
Prepare and display clothing and other items on racks and shelves
Execute additional duties as assigned by the Shop Manager
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform minor or moderate physical labor
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Approachable with good interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail
Dependability and punctuality
Ability to learn cash handling, pricing, and display procedures
Availability to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays
