Registered level – $24.00 Certification level 1 – $25.50 Certification level 2 – $27.00 Certification level 3 – $28.50 Type : Pro Re Nata (scheduled as-needed), Non-Exempt Position Summary Certified/registered PRN SUD Counselor supports the residential staff when there is a scheduled shift that needs to be covered. This position does not hold a caseload and is utilized on an as-needed basis. Essential Functions Facilitate individual and group SUD counseling sessions in a residential setting Conduct SUD assessments for residents, including the regular completion of residential problem lists (formerly known as treatment plans) Complete and document provision of resident medication in a non-medical setting Help resolve interpersonal issues between and among residents Complete all resident documentation, according to county, state, and agency guidelines Support Lead counselors with completion of resident drug screens both monthly and as needed Transport clients to and from medical appointments, sober support meetings, and life enrichment activities Report issues that endanger the safety or wellbeing of clients or colleagues to the program manager Attend all internal meetings, and complete all trainings as required Complete as needed, supervision with lead counselor Maintain all confidentiality and privacy standards of client protected health information and other information and materials in accordance with company policies and procedures, and applicable regulations and laws according to HIPAA Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Ability to be on-call as needed within a residential program Maintain active certification/registration through CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP Complete all required CEU/Training for certification renewal Assure timely renewal of certification Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or within 90 days of hire) ASAM Training (or within 10 days of hire) Understanding of the social determinants of health impacting LGBTQI+ communities Cultural competency and humility in working with LGBTQI+ communities Strong verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and in a group setting Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities within a residential setting Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment Excellent time management skills Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner according to program expectations Ability to meet deadlines with documentation according to state, county, and program expectations Ability to work flexible hours – days, nights, and weekends as needed for a residential setting Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Successful completion of a criminal background check Preferred Qualifications 3 to 5 years serving clients in the human services Experience with Welligent or other forms of electronic health records Experience with Optum – SUDPOH county forms used for AOD documentation Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements While primarily working indoors, counselors also work with clients outdoors Regularly lift 15 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 Holiday, evening, and weekend work may be required Transporting residents to and from activities and or appointments
