Base pay range $136,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Clover Sonoma About the Role Do you have a passion working in Sourcing to drive and own projects from the
ground up to commercialization ? Be part of a team that will use your Sourcing expertise to drive costs out of the system, leverage relationships with key suppliers and learn the dairy world from cow to carton. You will be a key employee of our organization managing multiple copackers in a highly paced environment, as well as working closely with our sales and marketing teams. A Day in the Life You will enjoy managing the procurement of various dairy commodities (e.g., milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, etc.) You will leverage your commodity knowledge to help Clover improve quality, cost and service levels You will be involved in new item introductions, with the Sourcing Department playing a key role getting projects off the ground. Develop and implement sourcing strategies: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, assess market trends, and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and costs. Negotiate contracts and pricing: Secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, aiming for cost savings and ensuring quality standards are met. Manage supplier relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor their performance, and address any issues related to quality or delivery. Monitor market trends: Stay informed about market dynamics, pricing trends, and new technologies to make informed purchasing decisions. Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with production, marketing and sales. Role Requirements Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and risk mitigation. Ensure compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations related to procurement and supply chain manager. 9+ years of experience in a purchasing or related supply chain role, ideally in the food industry and/or organics, or a combination of experience with a relevant degree (Business, Ag Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Packaging Engineering). What You Bring to the Team Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Familiarity with procurement and ERP systems like SAP or Oracle Key soft skills encompass excellent communication, strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities, organizational skills for managing multiple priorities, and effective problem-solving and decision-making Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS, CIPS) preferred Experience with strategic sourcing and vendor management, and knowledge of specific commodity markets and industry trends preferred.
