As we scale across our multiple locations, we’re looking for a strategic, systems-savvy Director of People Operations to partner with our Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) to help build the People infrastructure that powers our next chapter. As our Director of People Operations, you’ll help shape the people systems, experiences, and culture that define who we are. Optimize People Operations Systems & Team Leadership
Own and optimize HR tech stack: UKG(HRIS), ADP (payroll/time), Lattice (performance), Ashby (ATS) Lead SOP implementation, data accuracy, and process documentation across the employee lifecycle Coach and grow your team of two: HR Business Partner (Plant and Distribution) and People Operations Generalist Own Policy, SOP & Knowledge Management
Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks across all workgroups Build a centralized HR knowledge base that supports consistency, transparency, and compliance Standardize operational HR processes across union and non-union sites, with clear documentation and accountability Drive Workforce Analytics Across People Operations
Track and analyze KPIs including headcount, absenteeism, grievance trends, overtime, safety incidents, and turnover Use data to drive continuous improvement in staffing models, engagement, and labor cost control Collaborate with CPCO, Plant HRBP and Operations site leadership to integrate union-specific insights into strategic decision-making Lead Compliance
Ensure compliance with CA and federal employment laws (FEHA, CFRA, PAGA, FMLA, ADA, Cal/OSHA, etc.) Support HRBP with investigations, compliance audits, and agency responses Manage Benefits, Leave & Compensation Programs
Oversee all benefit offerings (medical, dental, vision, 401k, life/disability) and open enrollment Ensure compliant, empathetic administration of all leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, PFL, Workers’ Comp) Enforce compliance with wage & hour laws, classification, and pay equity regulations Champion Culture, Engagement & Fun
Collaborate with office management & facilities team on planning, guidance and execution of cultural events and employee activities—from appreciation days to plant celebrations to seasonal fun—ensuring events are inclusive, locally relevant, and aligned with our values Be a champion for building a joyful, connected, high-performing and fun workplace across all departments and sites What You Bring
8–10+ years of HR/People Operations experience SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or California HR certification Deep expertise in workforce analytics, compliance, benefits, leave, and compensation Proven track record in policy development, knowledge management, and SOP standardization Strong operational judgment, attention to detail, and project execution capabilities Collaborative, people-first leadership style—you know how to get things done, bring others along, and make it fun Bias for action, strong judgement and emotional intelligence Proficiency with Excel/Data visualization, People Analytics, PowerPoint, Google Workspace A warrior spirit, a sense of humor, creative mindset and a passion for creating a truly great place to work Preferred Qualifications
