Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult, Med-Surg Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night/Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of med-surg experience, 1 year of pediatric experience required License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS required Must-Have: Must be comfortable with both adult and pediatric patients
Description: Registered Nurse needed for a medical-surgical unit catering to adult geriatrics and pediatric patients. Excellent staffing ratios are maintained, with non-COVID patients typically at a 4:1 ratio and a maximum of 5:1. For COVID patients, the ratio typically is 2:1, with a maximum of 3:1. Candidates must have three years of med-surg experience and one year of pediatric experience. Flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays is required. In addition to inpatient care, nurses may be assigned to help cover flu immunization clinics as needed. Travelers will be expected to attend staff meetings. Occasionally, travelers will float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. Floating may include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones. Holiday coverage is required.
