R134832**About the Opportunity****JOB SUMMARY**The Electronic Instrumentation Technician in the Introductory Physics Laboratory (IPL) in the Department of Physics is primarily responsible for testing, maintaining, and fixing various experimental equipment, ranging from mechanics to nuclear physics, that is used in teaching labs in support of several physics courses. Candidates must have skills in servicing mixed lab equipment: mechanical, electrical, magnetic, fluidic, optical, as well as electronics utilized in experiments (e.g. sensors, imaging cameras, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies). Knowledge of lab computers, electronic circuits, and CAD software is required.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES*** Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation used in the IPL* Advise IPL Directors and IPL Supervisor with evaluation and upgrades of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Maintain CAD drawings archive of experimental parts.* Assist with physics demonstrations and instrumentation for teaching and research labs in the Department of Physics. Perform other duties to support the teaching and research mission of the department as requested by the Physics Faculty.**QUALIFICATIONS*** Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Physics required, with experience in electronics.* Minimum 5 years of experience in Physics Laboratory or similar environment.* Ability to repair various physics teaching and research lab equipment.* Knowledge of lab computers and software, including CAD.**Position Type**Research**Additional Information**Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
