Electrical Designer Your New Role As an experienced designer, you will design electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage) for building construction. You will perform drafting, detailing, and design assignments with minimal supervision, applying advanced drafting and fundamental design techniques in accordance with company and industry standards and codes. This position is classified as a hybrid role, requiring regular in-person attendance at one of our designated office locations, with specific scheduling to be discussed during the interview process. What You’ll Be Doing Collaborate as a project team member on various building and construction projects, understanding scope, schedule, and budget. Coordinate with and assist relevant disciplines with addenda, RFPs, etc., incorporating agreed-upon changes into project documents. Perform routine checks and verifications, ensuring conflicts and interferences are avoided through coordination with other disciplines. Attend project meetings, site visits, and conduct investigations/assessments of existing buildings as needed, which may require occasional overnight travel. Prepare engineering and construction drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation. Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings and related documents per company policies. Assist with troubleshooting activities and BIM system setup and procedures. Communicate daily project status with electrical team members and external disciplines as needed. Perform other duties to ensure successful project delivery and smooth operations. What You’ll Bring An associate or technical degree in Design/Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field is required; candidates with a high school diploma and equivalent experience will also be considered. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrical designer. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD; knowledge of MicroStation and electrical engineering software (e.g., Visual Lighting, AGI 32, SKM Power*Tools, Lightstanza) is a plus. Ability to apply and navigate state and local codes along with industry standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IECC, ASHRAE) in design. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with strong attention to detail and deadline management. Organized, capable of managing multiple projects independently and collaboratively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional attitude.
