Cedar Park Group seeks an experienced
Executive Director (Equity & Justice Initiative)
to lead a high-impact, one-year initiative examining historical and systemic racial injustices and developing actionable recommendations. This contract may be renewed for an additional year. Location:
Remote (with travel across New York State) . Schedule: Full-time, primarily during business hours, with evening/weekend availability for hearings and community engagement. The Executive Director will provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure the completion of a final report incorporating research, community input, and policy analysis. Ideal candidates or teams will have proven experience in racial equity, historical redress, policy or community initiatives, along with strong leadership, project management, and report-writing skills, capable of guiding complex, multi-stakeholder efforts with transparency and sensitivity. Qualifications:
Minimum
5 years of leadership experience
in social justice, policy, or community engagement, including
3 years in a senior executive role Graduate degree
in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, law, history, social sciences) Proven experience in racial equity, historical redress, policy development, or community initiatives Strong project management, strategic planning, and report-writing skills Ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder processes with transparency and sensitivity Required Skills & Experience:
Background in
reparative justice and addressing historical inequities Understanding of
slavery, systemic racism , and related policy issues Experience leading
cross-functional teams
(e.g., policy analysts, legal experts, historians, researchers) Proven ability to
manage complex projects
with multiple contributors and deadlines Skills in
writing, editing, research , and producing high-quality reports Experience overseeing the
full report lifecycle Ability to create
visually engaging and accessible reports , including data visualizations Experience gathering and integrating
community feedback Key Responsibilities:
