The City of Glendale (AZ) is hiring for a Lateral Police Dispatcher with a salary range of $57,241.08 - $85,861.88 annually. This full-time position is located in Glendale, AZ. A $10,000 hiring bonus is available for in-state applicants and a $7,500 hiring bonus for out-of-state applicants. All communication will be done by email or phone. The Lateral Police Dispatcher hiring process is dependent on experience at a comparable law enforcement agency. Answers emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, dispatches and monitors officers, and enters information into criminal justice information systems. Located on the western edge of the Phoenix metropolitan area, Glendale is a culturally diverse community with approximately 250,000 residents. The Glendale Police Department employs 459 sworn officers and 163 civilian employees. The Department is organized into three functional bureaus: the Operations Bureau, the Investigative and Administrative Services Bureau, and the Support Services Bureau. Under these bureaus are six divisions: Administrative Services, Special Operations, Criminal Investigations, Support Services, Gateway Patrol and Foothills Patrol. New officers can expect to serve in one of the two patrol divisions for their first two years following field training, after which time they can apply for any number of specialty assignments. These include SWAT, Bomb Squad, K-9, Motors, Detective, Vehicular Crimes, Training and others.
