Overview:
The Kensington Bethesda is seeking an Associate Executive Director to directly support the Executive Director in leading a brand new, vibrant Assisted Living and Memory Care community, opening Summer 2025. This role focuses on excellence in clinical care, daily operations, and enriching the lives of residents. You will partner with the Executive Director to plan, organize, and evaluate services to meet the needs and interests of the community.
What will you do as the Associate Executive Director?
Provides input into the annual business and budget planning; monitors staffing levels, staff schedules, care planning/delivery, and supply inventories to ensure labor, supply costs, and quality of care goals are met across the Assisted Living, Memory Care, Nursing, and Concierge departments.
Ensures medical evaluations, resident information, care levels, and social needs are outlined in Assessments and Service Plans and are documented, regularly reviewed, and updated to reflect changes.
Ensures effective departmental coordination so that clinical care, nutrition, and enrichment activities are carried out and documented; ensures timely Service Plan meetings with residents and families.
Establishes processes for departmental leaders to meet with prospective and current residents and families to discuss resident care, activity participation, address concerns, and foster positive customer relations; ensures issues or complaints related to care services and activities are handled promptly and appropriately.
Maintains overall responsibility for ensuring the effectiveness of Health Maintenance Meetings and ensuring follow-up actions identified are carried out in a timely manner.
Reports monthly on performance metrics and reviews results to identify actions for improvement.
Oversees compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Represents Kensington Senior Living in professional and community activities and maintains positive relationships with referral sources and service providers.
Oversees onboarding and performance management to achieve high performance and low turnover.
Establishes departmental priorities, assigns tasks, and keeps employees informed of relevant changes.
Ensures the concierge team maintains logs/binders at desk, is highly professional, and is provided with supervisory development training and readiness to carry out responsibilities in the Emergency Preparedness Plan.
Participates in workshops, seminars, and programs to stay current with developments in the healthcare field and shares insights with the team.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to Senior Living.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lead effectively within a culturally diverse, team-based environment.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ability to learn new database programs.
Ability to calculate figures related to budgetary items, staffing needs, and related calculations.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Demonstrate freedom from Tuberculosis by PPD/TB test or chest x-ray, with documentation of absence of tuberculosis.
Pass a pre-employment drug test.
