Administrative Assistant 1 Position

In this role you will support department information technology (IT) and human resources (HR) functions, as well as handle our employee recognition program. Your responsibilities with IT will involve tracking and maintaining records and reports in support of the department's IT project manager and helping to coordinate and communicate IT project plans with internal agency staff, Commonwealth IT offices, and project and system vendors. Your HR duties will involve assisting department supervisors and managers by coordinating with Commonwealth HR offices on a variety of hiring, payroll, onboarding, and other HR functions. You will also help gather and evaluate employee feedback and develop recommendations for improvements. To handle our department's employee recognition program, you will track years of service and other recognition worthy data, prepare announcements and certificates, and work with senior leadership to provide other opportunities to promote morale and recognize staff achievements and milestones. You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
