Collection System Technician
Two current vacancies available for a 40 hours per week position under general supervision. The purpose of the position is to function as a Collection System Technician engaged in installation, maintenance, and repair of sewerage collection systems and lift stations of the City. Collection System Technicians must adhere to established safety and accident prevention policies, procedures, and standards. Performs related work as directed. Duties of responsibilities include: Customer service functions: Responds to service requests from the public, performs smoke testing, dye testing, and interacts with the public daily. Repair functions: Responds to service requests, performs repairs, excavations, and assists in follow-up investigations. Inspection functions: Performs televising, smoke testing, dye testing, and interacts with the public daily. Lift station functions: Visually inspects lift stations, replaces parts, assists in deployment and fueling of pumps and generators, and responds to SCADA alerts. Additional job functions: Operates various hand and power tools, troubleshoots and repairs pump mechanical equipment, and provides training and technical support. Minimum qualifications include a current, valid Louisiana driver's license and a high school diploma or GED from a Louisiana Department of Education approved institution.
