The Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles is the largest unified trial court in the United States. The Court's 582 judicial officers and its dedicated workforce of over 4,600 full-time employees serving across 36 facilities work purposefully and seamlessly to achieve the mission to provide equal access to justice to all of Los Angeles County. With an annual budget exceeding $1 billion, the Los Angeles Superior Court operation scales one of the nation's largest counties, covering over 4,084 square miles and serving over 10 million residents. Law Clerks conduct legal research, analyze motions and other matters on calendar to expedite court calendars, prepare written recommendations there on, and perform related duties as assigned. A detailed job description is available at the following links: Law Clerk (Bar Member): $98,757.84 - $110,077.08 Annually Law Clerk (Non-Bar): $89,485.06 - $94,477.08 Annually *Incoming law clerks with less than three years of California-licensed attorney experience will be compensated at the entry-level point within the salary range. To qualify, you must meet one of the following requirements: Law Clerk (Non-Bar): Graduation from an accredited school of law with a Juris Doctor degree. Law Clerk (Bar Member): Licensed to practice law in the state of California and an active member in good standing of the State Bar of California. Desirable qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to conduct legal research independently, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judicial officers and others in the workplace.
