Legal Assistant
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to a team of attorneys across multiple practice areas, with a primary focus on litigation. This role is critical to ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of case preparation, document management, and attorney support within the organization. The Legal Assistant will also contribute to client service and case management by handling filings, preparing trial materials, and coordinating daily attorney needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and clerical support to multiple attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling, and coordinating meetings. Draft, prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and presentations. Manage electronic court filings (e-filing) in federal, state, and local courts. Maintain case files, discovery materials, and client records in electronic and physical formats. Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of exhibits, binders, and witness materials. Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel in a professional manner. Track deadlines, court dates, and ensure compliance with all procedural requirements. Provide billing and expense report support as needed. Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to create and edit legal and business documents. Assist attorneys with special projects and other firm initiatives as assigned. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: 2--7 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or in a similar role within a law firm. Litigation experience required; experience in banking law preferred. Associate degree or higher preferred, though not required. Special Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Word functions. Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing processes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong problem-solving skills and initiative. Additional Desired Characteristics: Experience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously. Prior exposure to banking law matters. Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and workflow processes. Work Environment: Full-time, Monday--Friday schedule. Primarily in-office role with occasional flexibility based on business needs. May involve occasional overtime during trial preparation or urgent deadlines.
