Description of Work: In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing, drafting, and editing proposed regulations and amendments to the Department's regulations. This involves collaborating with legal staff on suggested modifications, revising regulatory packages as needed, and visiting off-site locations to review and approve final documents prior to publication. You will prepare regulatory packages and notices related to speed timing devices, which includes publishing regulations, notices, and the annual list of approved devices and calibration stations in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Additionally, you will monitor activities concerning speed timing calibration and testing stations, investigate and appoint new facilities, and manage departmental changes and cancellations. Periodic audits of speed timing stations will also be conducted, along with reviewing and recommending changes to forms associated with the Speed Timing Calibration and Testing Program. You will collaborate with Department and State Police legal staff to establish the approval and certification process for speed timing devices in Pennsylvania, as well as develop, monitor, and review test results to determine device approval. Furthermore, you will recommend amendments to the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and/or Department regulations and create, distribute, and maintain the speed timing calibration and testing manual. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
