About the Role

The Company is in search of a visionary and collaborative Head of Lower School to lead its PreK-Grade 5 division. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspiring and maintaining a joyful, inclusive, and developmentally responsive culture, promoting inquiry-based teaching and learning, and fostering a climate of psychological safety, kindness, and academic ambition. This role involves overseeing all day-to-day operations, including curriculum, instruction, student support, and parent engagement, as well as hiring, supervising, and professionally developing faculty and staff. The Head of Lower School will also be deeply involved in advancing the school's strategic vision, particularly in the areas of innovation, belonging, and financial sustainability.

Applicants for the Head of Lower School position at the company should be champions of inquiry-based learning, early childhood education, and child development. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' leadership experience in early childhood and elementary education, with a preference for those who have served as a Lower School Division Head. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a Master's degree in education or school leadership is preferred. The role demands a clear, proactive, and effective communicator, an advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and a compelling public ambassador for the school's values and programs. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential, as is a collaborative leadership style that builds trust and energizes teams. Experience with Reggio Emilia philosophy, responsive classroom, and inquiry-based methodologies, as well as a demonstrated ability to engage in fundraising efforts and advance strategic goals, are also key qualifications.
