About the Role
The Company is seeking a Founding Head of School to lead the establishment of a new public charter school with a strong focus on global citizenship, academic excellence, and inclusive, joyful learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for the school's launch, strategic planning, and the design of a vibrant, inquiry-based learning environment. This role requires a mission-driven leader with a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, who can build and nurture a school culture that fosters strong student-teacher relationships and a sense of belonging for all. The Founding Head of School will also be tasked with recruiting and developing a high-quality founding team of educators and staff, ensuring instructional excellence, and engaging with families and the local community to position the school as a trusted and impactful educational option.
Applicants for the Founding Head of School position should have at least 6 years' of progressive leadership experience in K-8 education, with a preference for those who have been involved in the launch of a new school. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree or higher preferred) and a proven track record of leading diverse teams, coaching educators, and improving student outcomes. Strong familiarity with culturally responsive teaching, multilingual learner supports, and inclusive special education practices is essential. The role demands a leader with strategic and adaptive thinking, integrity, and ethical leadership, who can balance long-term vision with the ability to respond effectively to emerging challenges. Emotional intelligence, cultural competency, and a collaborative approach to relationship building are also key attributes for the role.
