About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Christian Community and Leadership. This pivotal role is focused on energizing and engaging the core membership to reach and welcome new, younger, and more diverse individuals into the Christian faith. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting priorities, hiring senior leaders, and aligning the budget to support the mission of the organization. Key responsibilities include providing leadership in the areas of Christian community and leadership, creating and sustaining pipelines for leaders, and overseeing the credentialing of rostered ministers. The Executive Director will also work closely with other executive directors to ensure a collaborative approach to creating a 21st-century church that is relevant and welcoming to all.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree, be rostered in the ELCA, and have a minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in leadership development and evangelism. The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of the Lutheran church, its history, theology, mission, polity, and structure. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building trust, coaching, and developing leaders, as well as experience with new congregations and vital, growing ministries. Excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, and the ability to work with a diverse population are essential. The Executive Director will also be expected to travel regularly and drive performance through measurable impact.
