Job Summary

This position is advertised at the minimum hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer. Applications are sought on behalf of the Superior Court in Yuma County. Yuma County Human Resources does not review any applications submitted for this position. All applications are forwarded to Superior Court Human Resources in Yuma County. Nature of Work Under general supervision, performs routine clerical and service support work involving extensive in-person and phone contact with users of the court's services; may perform specialized functions within a work unit. Nature of Work

Answers incoming calls; determines and undertakes routing to proper party; takes and delivers messages; greets visitors and others having business with the department, division, or work unit; assists visitors, and persons responding to inquiries; directs to proper party; provides forms; accepts, opens, distributes and routes mail; creates and/or updates files; files materials alphabetically, numerically, chronologically and by other predetermined categories; reviews files, documents, and other printed materials for completeness and accuracy; performs routine office support tasks; provides information in response to inquiries; refers technical inquiries to appropriate work unit member; operates standard and specialized office equipment used in work unit; performs arithmetic calculations and simple bookkeeping duties; performs related duties as required or assigned, abides by the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees. Experience and Education

High school diploma or GED; AND, one (1) year of receptionist/clerical/secretarial experience involving extensive public contact or closely related duties; OR equivalent combination of experience and/or education to provide comparable knowledge, skills and abilities. Additional requirements: This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks; a valid Arizona State driver's license may be required; Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required. Knowledge of: Applicable Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures; modern phone and call routing systems; legal terminology and court processes; basic principles, processes and scope of records maintenance and management; business English, spelling and arithmetic; modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Skills in: Interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds; working under pressure in a dynamic work environment with changing demands and priorities; ability to effectively establish and maintain good working relations with judges, court staff, litigants, attorneys and the general public; operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications.
