Sterile Processing Technician II

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for a Sterile Processing Technician II who is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, testing, sorting, assembling, packaging, distributing and collecting a variety of reusable medical and surgical equipment, instrumentation and supplies. Positions in this class work under general supervision and are characterized by the assignment of lead worker responsibilities in addition to the performance of Sterile Processing Technician duties. Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empires newest medical school. Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet both of the following options: EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care hospital operating sterilizing equipment and cleaning surgical instruments and equipment. AND - CERTIFICATION: Must possess certification as a Sterile Processing/Central Service Technician through the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) in any one of the following: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Only accepted in conjunction with the completion of a Sterile Processing Technician course from an accredited agency.
