Job Title: On-Site Supervisor

Brief Description:

The County offers a variety of tournaments to include, but not limited to, soccer, flag football, basketball, baseball, softball, field hockey and lacrosse for all ages. The on-site supervisor is responsible for preparing the game site, starting the games on time, returning game site to the condition it was found in at the termination of the last scheduled game and monitoring other sports tournament staff. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to apply. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare site every game day for game play in a safe environment. Conduct proper pre-game meeting with selected officials/tournament partners/site staff. Start and end games at scheduled times. Responsible for timekeeping and scorekeeping of games. Direct games in compliance with established tournament rules. Maintain friendly, positive relationship with players, coaches, site staff, tournament partners, park/facility staff, concession vendors parents and spectators. Responsible for the safety and general welfare of the tournament and participants. Complete and submit accident and incident reports to tournaments and events coordinator in a timely manner. Return game site to same condition as it was found at completion of last game. Perform additional responsibilities/other duties as assigned by tournaments and events coordinator. Adhere to the utility cart guidelines. Supervising other tournament staff and keeping them on task. Attend all required staff trainings. Keep in contact with tournaments and events coordinator throughout event. Special Qualifications/Skills: Knowledge of current rules of the sport and the ability to interpret them. Ability to understand and interpret specific tournament rules and County procedures. Ability to schedule and reschedule games due to inclement weather, team no-show, official no-show, etc. Ability to communicate with parents, spectators, players, staff, officials, park and facility staff and tournament partners. Ability to deal with sometimes-difficult individuals. Ability to supervise and, when necessary, gain control over the game. Community CPR and First Aid certification desirable. Coaching and/or sport specific official certifications desirable. Experience/Education: Significant background in participation, teaching, coaching, scorekeeping or officiating in specific sport. Prior experience working as sport or recreational activity assistant preferred. Coaching certification, CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Rate of Pay:
