May 02, 2025 Profile Job Overview A law firm seeks a highly skilled and driven Patent Litigation Associate to join its intellectual property team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling patent disputes, a strong grasp of patent law and litigation procedures, and exceptional analytical and communication skills. This role involves high-stakes litigation for clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to innovative start-ups, across industries such as software, hardware, and platform technologies. Duties Represent clients in patent litigation matters from pre-trial preparation through trial Conduct in-depth legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda Analyze technical and legal aspects of patent disputes Participate in depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings Collaborate with clients, expert witnesses, and internal teams to develop case strategies Manage case files and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines Provide guidance on intellectual property protection and risk assessment Requirements 2-5 years of experience in patent litigation Strong understanding of intellectual property and patent law Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills Ability to handle complex technical and legal matters effectively Strong verbal communication and advocacy skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Certifications Active license to practice law in California Skills Proficiency in legal research and case analysis Strong litigation strategy and negotiation abilities Technical proficiency in engineering, computer science, or related fields (preferred but not required) Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Competitive health and welfare benefits Paid vacation and leave (including parental and sabbatical options) Paid holidays Collaborative and high-caliber legal team environment This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled patent litigator to grow within a dynamic intellectual property practice.
