Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a RF Validation and Test Engineer in Arlington Heights IL

In this key position, you'll support the engineering staff by testing, characterizing, and refining our cutting-edge designs. Your responsibilities will include creating test programs and leading validation efforts for our high-power RF products, such as RF switches, Power Amplifiers (PAs), and Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs).

You'll focus on automating test processes, assembling, evaluating, troubleshooting, and enhancing test setups, while using these systems to thoroughly assess and optimize product performance. The role may also involve partnering with Applications and Design Engineers to tailor or verify solutions that meet customer needs. The successful candidate will bring a solid foundation in RF systems and practical expertise in measuring high-power RF components.

Key Responsibilities Develop automated test protocols to streamline test systems, ensuring user-friendliness, precision, and comprehensive data gathering across various conditions. Build specialized test bench setups to fully evaluate and enhance our product lineup. Apply advanced RF testing expertise, leveraging equipment like network analyzers, signal analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, and other laboratory tools. Conduct specification compliance testing to confirm that our products surpass datasheet standards and customer requirements. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related discipline. At least 3 years of professional experience in RF component or system testing and automation. In-depth knowledge of RF principles, including transmission line theory, impedance matching, and noise figure analysis. Familiarity with test automation software and languages, including LabVIEW/TestStand, MATLAB, VBA, Python, and scripting protocols like SCPI (preferred). Understanding of system design fundamentals, with the capability to produce detailed schematics. Hands-on experience with high-power RF components, such as PAs, LNAs, and RF switches (highly desirable). Knowledge of wireless technologies, including 5G, 4G, radar systems, LMR, PMR, tactical radios, and drone communication platforms. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration. Capacity to thrive independently or within a team in a high-energy setting.
