A law firm seeks an experienced patent attorney to join its intellectual property team in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on providing clients with tailored legal counsel in various intellectual property matters, particularly patent prosecution. Duties
Manage the full scope of patent prosecution, including drafting, filing, and responding to office actions. Provide strategic intellectual property advice to clients, focusing on portfolio development and protection. Conduct detailed analyses such as patentability assessments, infringement reviews, and risk evaluations. Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing a portable book of business. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to address various intellectual property needs. Monitor patent laws and regulations changes to ensure client compliance and effective counsel. Requirements
At least 10 years of experience in patent prosecution or related intellectual property practice. Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of clients and deliver exceptional legal services. A portable book of business that reflects a successful track record in the field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client interaction. Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications
Active membership in good standing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Patent Bar). Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Skills
In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution procedures and intellectual property law. Strong analytical abilities to address complex legal and technical challenges.
