The HR Representative supports our Janesville and Jefferson locations by administering company policies, procedures, and programs concerning communication, engagement, and recognition for employees in their primary area of support. Responsible for the staffing process in the assigned areas focused generally on hourly positions, working with Talent Acquisition, staffing agencies, and hiring managers directly. The HR Representative will support supervisors and managers in employee relations and development for their hourly employees.
Work Location:
Onsite 50% Janesville and Onsite 50% Jefferson.
Travel Requirements:
The ability to be on site in our Janesville WI site 2-3 days per week with the alternative days sitting in our Jefferson facility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's Degree in Business, HR or related field plus 1 year of experience in HR OR 5 years related experience in the HR function within a similar working environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· PHR Certification
· Experience coordinating HR processes, procedures, and documentation within the manufacturing and/or distribution industry
· Experience in data management and records maintenance
· Experience working with an HRIS and/or Talent Management Information System
· Experience recruiting hourly employees in a seasonal environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Partners with internal customer groups to ensure communication and coordination of HR programs and processes within a specific business function or segment of the company, focused on an hourly workforce. Drives employee engagement and performance
· Serves as a trusted advisor for supervisors in employee relations and development of their teams.
· Ensures personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations; ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Develops pertinent metrics and analysis while administering compensation programs, salary planning, and job evaluation under the direction of the HR Management team.
· Perform data entry, validation and reporting in HR systems, including HRIS, payroll, performance management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
· Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
· Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information
· Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment
· Demonstrated skills in problem solving, conflict resolution and working knowledge of employment law.
Physical Demands
: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
