Senior Counsel, Labor and Employment
to lead our global labor and employment legal strategy. This role is a critical part of our Legal Function and reports directly to the
Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer/Assistant General Counsel, Labor & Employment . We are looking for a collaborative legal leader who thrives in a networked global environment and brings deep expertise in employment law, talent strategy, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, a mentor to legal team members, and a proactive partner to our People & Culture and Ethics & Compliance teams. What You'll Do for Us Strategic Legal Guidance : Provide business-focused legal counsel on all aspects of People, Culture, and Talent to minimize legal risk and protect the company’s reputation. Policy Development & Compliance : Partner with Human Resources and cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and enhance employment-related policies and procedures across global markets. Insider Risk Mitigation : Collaborate with security, privacy, and data protection teams to advise on insider threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring proactive risk management. Litigation Oversight : Lead and manage employment-related litigation and regulatory challenges, including oversight of outside counsel, resolution of pre-suit demands, and attorney inquiries. Training & Education : Deliver training sessions and educational presentations to internal stakeholders on employment law compliance, emerging legal trends, and lessons learned from litigation. Labor Relations : Partner with Labor Relations teams to support collective bargaining agreements and union-related workforce matters, including trade union negotiations. Investigations : Conduct and support internal investigations related to employee grievances, discrimination, harassment, and workplace misconduct, recommending and implementing remedial actions. Global Collaboration : Engage across geographic regions and business units to ensure cohesive legal and talent strategies, driving global business success. Leadership & Mentorship : Lead and develop a high-performing legal team, fostering an inclusive culture of growth, innovation, and collaboration. Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with the Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS) team to align employment strategies with broader public relations and communications objectives. Reporting & Risk Insights : Provide regular updates to senior management on proactive legal risk mitigation strategies and insights gleaned from litigation matters. Requirements & Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in a U.S. state or international bar. 10 + years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably within a large national law firm or corporate legal department. Labor and employment law across domestic and international jurisdictions. Employment litigation, including managing outside counsel and resolving pre-suit demands. Employee relations and workplace culture initiatives. Collective bargaining and trade union negotiations. HR policy development and implementation across global markets. Workplace investigations, including discrimination and harassment claims. Employment compliance and regulatory risk management. Global employment law and cross-border employment matters. Drafting and advising on employment contracts. Legal risk management and proactive mitigation strategies. Internal investigations and remedial action planning. Regulatory compliance with evolving employment laws. Legal advisory support for People & Culture strategy and talent initiatives. Strong project management skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver results. Excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills, with a strategic mindset and business acumen. Ability to work effectively across time zones and respond to global stakeholders outside of standard business hours. Pay Range: $236,000 - $271,000 Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered. Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage: 50 Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
