Alfred University, a private, comprehensive doctoral-degree-granting university in Western New York, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM).

Founded in 1836, Alfred University’s mission can be encapsulated in five words: Helping Students Realize Their Purpose. It fulfills that mission through three core strengths: intersections, mentorship, and inclusivity, promoting a sense of belonging among all members of the campus community.

Nearly 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students study on Alfred University’s campus across more than 1,000 acres. Alfred University offers the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Art and Design, the Performing Arts Division, the AACSB-accredited College of Business, the Inamori School of Engineering with strong ceramic and glass programs, and a Graduate and Continuing Studies School. The endowment is valued at roughly $200 million, and the university has a strong record of philanthropy and securing research grants in support of faculty and student research.

Like Cornell, Alfred University has a statutory college supported by New York State. Established in 1900, the New York State College of Ceramics receives about $9 million in operating support per year and additional facilities support from SUNY.

Alfred University is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM). This role encompasses recruiting, selecting, admitting, and yielding students with direct responsibility for admissions, enrollment, and student financial services. The VPEM will lead a whole-campus approach to recruitment, with deans, faculty, staff, students, and alumni playing vital roles in helping students see the value of Alfred’s commitment to helping them realize their purpose. The VPEM will guide a highly collaborative and integrated effort across the University to achieve enrollment goals.

The salary range is $210,000 – $230,000 and is negotiable.
