The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a vision for the College of Law, as well as providing leadership in planning, curriculum, research, scholarship, and budgetary matters. This position requires engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, the legal community, and government officials, to advance the goals of the College of Law and the university. The Dean will also be expected to have a strong commitment to the mission of the College of Law, which includes preparing skilled lawyers and leaders, producing legal scholarship, and contributing to the advancement of justice. Applicants for the Dean position at the College of Law must hold a J.D. and/or terminal degree in the field of law and be qualified for appointment as a tenured, full professor. A significant record of leadership in a professional setting, particularly in higher education, government, public interest, or business, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a sustained record of excellence in research, scholarship, service, and teaching, and demonstrate a readiness to advance the College of Law through fundraising and building external partnerships. The role is pivotal in the institution's mission to grow in stature and impact across all dimensions, and the Dean will play a key part in this process, with a focus on bringing many people into one community and enhancing the public understanding of law.
