Chief Operating Officer
to lead their manufacturing operations. Candidates must have experience in the
metal forming
industry and a proven track record supporting
Defense
contracts. The COO role is an on-site position based in Chesterfield. This is a client-direct hire role. We’re seeking a high-impact operations leader who understands the full scope of a manufacturing organization and thrives on moving the needle. This individual must bring a strong command of
P&L management, capital planning, and operational execution , with a passion for driving measurable results and scaling performance across the business. Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute strategic growth initiatives, ensuring alignment across all departments and levels of the organization. Champion and implement continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean) to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput. Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive culture that encourages accountability, development, and innovation. Oversee plant operations, finance, and sales functions to ensure the business remains well-capitalized, competitive, and positioned for sustainable growth. Manage
CapEx planning and execution , optimizing return on investment while controlling costs. Ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory standards and proactively integrate best-in-class operational practices. Strengthen and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and industry partners. What We’re Looking For
15+ years of leadership experience
in operations in
metal forming
to support
defense contracts . A proven track record of scaling operations anywhere from
$10M to $60M+
in revenue while maintaining efficiency and profitability. Strong background in the
metal forming or stamping industry , understanding complex manufacturing environments. Proven success managing
CapEx investments , budgeting, and cost control while delivering profitability and operational scalability. Familiarity with
defense contract requirements
and related compliance standards (e.g., ITAR, DFARS). Lean Manufacturing and
Six Sigma
expertise (Green or Black Belt preferred); strong track record of process optimization and efficiency gains. Hands-on leadership of teams
35+ employees , with a balance of strategic thinking and operational execution. A proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset with the drive to make a lasting impact. Relocation assistance is not available; only candidates currently located in the area will be considered .
