Overview

Join Maxar Space Systems as the Director of Business Development, Commercial Space. This role is based in Palo Alto, CA, with possible remote work. You will drive our go-to-market efforts in Commercial Space and help increase Maxar's market share. Responsibilities

Lead, plan, and manage activities surrounding the identification, pursuit, and capture of new commercial business opportunities that leverage Maxar core competencies and discriminated capabilities. Provide portfolio oversight on all aspects of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP), including developing and executing growth strategies, identifying new opportunities, establishing pursuit priorities, and developing successful capture plans. Coordinate assigned Mission Architects, Chief Engineers, technical leads, and Program Managers in crafting tailored solutions, formulation/execution of capture plans and strategies, pursuit and proposal activities, and customer relationship management. Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of high-quality, responsive solutions to captive and competitive opportunities; guide internal teams in proposals, rough order of magnitude estimates, and RFI responses informed by customer engagement and competitive intelligence. Establish and maintain effective relationships with current and new customers; represent Maxar as a trusted partner and influence program awards in line with customer requirements and Maxar objectives. Develop and track a pipeline of opportunities that meets the quarterly and annual operating plan. Lead the Space Capture team in obtaining senior leadership approval for new commercial space opportunities through business case generation and margin analysis. Produce executive summaries and analyses to inform key business decisions. Perform ad hoc reporting and analyses to evaluate opportunities and provide bid/no-bid recommendations aligned with the Space Capture vision and strategy. Identify performance indicators and key analysis areas to drive continuous improvement in the capture process, training gaps, and market insights. Serve as a consultant for future systems designs to enable improved decision making and deliver value-added capability to Maxar products for customers. Minimum Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Science Discipline 10 years of experience in business development in the Commercial Space market Approximately 20% travel, both domestic and international Excellent written and oral communications skills Preferred Qualifications

Experience in international business development desired Salary and Pay Transparency

The starting pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic location, and market conditions. The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $143,000 - $238,000 annually. The base pay for this position within New Jersey is: $143,000 - $238,000 annually. The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $157,000 - $261,000 annually. The base pay for this position within California is: $164,000 - $274,000 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor to develop market-driven ranges for our roles; pay ranges may vary by location. Benefits
