Overview Vice President of Construction – Solar Division at MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure. We are seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to lead with innovation, cultivate a thriving team culture, and champion employee growth and development. You’ll provide strategic and operational leadership for the solar construction division, drive project execution excellence, unlock new revenue opportunities, and optimize performance across all construction activities. You’ll also be a culture builder who empowers and develops people to grow in the clean energy industry.

Location & Travel This is a remote position, based anywhere in the U.S., with up to 50% travel. This role supports MasTec’s solar projects across the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the division.

Interview, train, plan, assign, direct, and appraise performance; reward, discipline, and resolve concerns.

Lead, promote, and ensure compliance with all Company safety policies and procedures.

Develop the strategic plan for the business unit and ensure its implementation.

Responsible for the profitability of the division and achieving client satisfaction goals as outlined in the strategic plan.

Manage hiring, training, and retention within the division.

Oversee relationships with key vendors, owners, and clients.

Consult with Safety Director on jobsite safety issues.

Hold senior divisional management accountable to resolve conflicts with subcontractors, material delays, contract disputes, and trade conflicts.

Coordinate with staff to maintain open communication, monitor job progress, schedules, and subcontractor performance, and oversee field operations.

Manage and supervise Project Managers and Field Superintendents with ongoing feedback and timely performance appraisals.

Encourage adoption of new ideas and policy improvements.

Consult with SVP/EVP/President and other executives on business continuity and succession planning.

Serve as a member of the Executive team and participate in executive meetings.

Represent the company at trade shows and conferences on management and construction topics.

Visit jobsites regularly as needed.

Other duties as assigned by SVP/EVP/President.

Qualifications Education and Work Experience

15 years of construction experience in large industrial construction companies or related industries (renewables/EPC construction).

Previous experience in renewable energy; EPC construction preferred.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient in change management, conflict resolution, and coaching for performance and career development.

Ability to mentor and develop emerging leaders, creating succession pipelines and fostering long-term employee growth.

Ability to translate strategic vision into actionable plans that deliver measurable results in project execution and team engagement.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Viewpoint and Construction Software.

Working Environment

When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
