About the Role Global Finance Director
- Abyss Solutions is seeking an experienced Global Finance Director to lead the development and management of our finance function across multiple international locations. This role will be responsible for establishing robust financial systems, processes, and governance frameworks to support our continued growth in the autonomous inspection technology sector. The Global Finance Director will report to the CEO, taking responsibility for leading the finance function across all international operations. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can establish financial infrastructure whilst providing strategic financial leadership. The successful candidate will be accountable for financial governance frameworks, robust reporting systems, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This role suits a senior finance professional who is comfortable working in a growing technology company with complex international operations.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present board reports, investor updates, and management accounts
Lead capital management activities, including funding strategies and investor relations
Be accountable for financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Establish GAAP-compliant financial reporting across all jurisdictions
Oversee external audit processes and regulatory compliance requirements
Operations & Systems
Manage global finance teams across multiple locations
Be accountable for financial systems and processes, continuously developing for scalability
Establish cash management and treasury operations across multiple currencies
Oversee comprehensive budgeting and forecasting processes
Be accountable for project accounting frameworks to track profitability by engagement
Strategic Support
Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
Lead financial planning and scenario modelling activities
Support business development with pricing analysis and contract review
Coordinate with tax advisors across all operating jurisdictions
Be accountable for transfer pricing policies for inter-company transactions
Ensure compliance with local financial regulations in all operating countries
Be accountable for procurement policies and vendor management processes
Oversee financial controls and approval frameworks
Coordinate with external advisors, including auditors and tax specialists
Qualifications
Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience
Demonstrated experience managing international finance operations
Previous experience in technology or high-growth companies
Track record of building finance functions and teams
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP reporting requirements
Experience with ERP systems implementation and optimisation
Understanding of multi-jurisdictional compliance requirements
Knowledge of transfer pricing and international tax considerations
Experience with project-based accounting and profitability analysis
Proficiency in financial planning and analysis tools
Preferred Skills
Proven ability to manage and lead international teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience presenting to boards and senior stakeholders
Ability to work effectively across different time zones and cultures
Track record of implementing change in growing organisations
