Overview

The Senior Finance Officer is MVP’s internal financial lead, managing operations across our multiple legal vehicles. You and the finance team will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administrative Officer to oversee grantmaking from our 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC entities; maintain and improve accounting systems (with a focus on Sage Intacct); and lead compliance, budgeting, audit oversight, and team management. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with senior leadership to ensure robust financial infrastructure, strong internal controls, and smooth operations—especially during high-volume electoral years. As an MVP team member, you help position the organization for scale and long-term sustainability through excellent execution, strategic financial leadership, and by living our organizational values in daily practice. Responsibilities

Multi-Entity Financial Oversight Manage daily finance operations across MVP’s 501(c)(4), and PACs, as well as Movement Voter Fund, a 501(c)(3). Ensure accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, and close processes in Sage Intacct, in accordance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Deliver timely reporting to leadership and board; support audits and regulatory compliance across entities. Budgeting, Grants & Compliance Lead organizational budgeting across all entities and support forecasts. Partner with programs, development and legal teams to ensure budget alignment and donor compliance. Track restricted funds and entity-specific grant rules. N avigate FEC, IRS lobbying restrictions, PAC rules, and ensure transparent funding structures. Financial Systems, Reporting & Process Management Serve as Sage Intacct lead, including configuration, dashboards, and staff onboarding. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership informed of MVP’s financial status. Coordinate with external Controller for strong segregation of duties and financial controls. Coordinate the annual financial audit process with external auditors, internal team, and external advisors. Continuously refine workflows, reporting tools, and close checklists. Supervise internal finance/admin staff and vendors (e.g., Controller, accounting team). Be the go-to for non-finance colleagues seeking financial reports and other appropriately external-facing data. Build financial literacy and transparency across teams. Required Qualifications

7+ years nonprofit finance experience, with senior-level authority. Experience across 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC grantmaking. Deep Sage Intacct fluency (daily use, system admin, reporting, configuration). Experience in high-volume election cycles—fast, accurate grantmaking and fund accounting. Strong working knowledge of nonprofit compliance. Audit experience, including IRS Form 990; restricted fund tracking, and internal control systems. Excellent analytical and communication skills in remote environments. Preferred Qualifications

Experience with FEC reporting and PAC compliance. Other Details
