Overview
This DMV-based general contractor works on a wide variety of projects including offices, retail, and healthcare. They work on a combination of renovations and new builds, with most of their projects ranging between $500K-$5M. They are looking to add an Estimator to the team. Responsibilities
Communicate clearly and affectively to clients, architects, owners, and subcontractors Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data Prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects by analyzing project drawings, specifications, and RFP’s Perform detailed quantity take-offs and provide scope sheets for purchasing Evaluate bid specifications and drawings and perform risk analysis Review project documents to develop well-written RFIs and identify potential scope gaps Attend pre-bid meetings and/or site visits Minimize job costs by communicating scopes of work with subcontractors and vendors Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.) Requirements
3- 5+ years experience in an Estimator role at a General Contractor Take-off experience for interior trades Knowledge of all divisions of construction Ability to level bids, create scopes, and value engineer Seniority level
