What you’ll do As a civil litigation Associate Attorney, you will independently manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meeting deadlines. You will prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, gaining courtroom experience. You will collaborate with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies. You will keep clients informed with status updates and written reports, conduct thorough legal research, and draft memoranda to bolster case strategies. You will work with partners and senior attorneys to ensure smooth case management in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
What matters most
You must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and be admitted to the Connecticut State Bar or have an appropriate UBE score for admission to the jurisdiction.
You should have 3 to 8 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or closely related practice areas. Clerkship experience is a valuable asset.
Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, strong legal research capabilities, and effective responses to discovery. As you assist in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings, strong advocacy skills are crucial.
