Responsibilities
As a medical malpractice Associate, your day will be a dynamic blend of independent work and collaborative engagement.
You will take ownership of your caseload from inception to resolution, skillfully drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while remaining vigilant about details and deadlines.
Your role includes preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials, granting you invaluable courtroom experience.
Collaboration with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys will be integral as you craft effective litigation strategies.
Keeping clients informed is paramount; you will communicate regularly, providing status updates and interim written reports on case progress.
Additionally, you'll conduct in-depth legal research and draft memoranda that bolster case strategies, all while partnering with senior attorneys to ensure a seamless and impactful approach to case management.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Connecticut State Bar, or eligibility through an adequate UBE score.
1 to 6 years of medical malpractice defense litigation experience; clerkship experience is a significant advantage.
Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, coupled with strong legal research and discovery response skills.
Experience supporting mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings with strong advocacy skills.
Attention to detail, prioritization, and effective communication are key attributes for success.
