The client team is a lean, dynamic group of individuals committed to addressing unmet needs for patients with CNS disorders. Our client is based in New York City.
About This Role We are seeking a
Regional Business Director (RBD)
to lead commercial activities for an assigned geography, establish a team of Account Managers, execute marketing strategies, and ensure a successful launch. The RBD will be primarily responsible for the supervision and leadership of an industry-shaping, uniquely structured salesforce leveraging a highly sophisticated digital infrastructure. All sales representatives will be aligned to geographical boundaries.
The RBD is responsible for sales performance at a regional level and is expected to be a product champion with knowledge of the local landscape to assess key stakeholders and future trends within the marketplace. This is a cross-functional front-line leader role that will focus on our growth brand for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder in Adults, Auvelity. The position is field-based and will require travel as needed to develop internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities
Supervise regional operations including driving results, hiring and coaching, developing account managers, performance management, and prioritizing key accounts within the medical community
Develop and implement strategic regional plans balancing live/virtual interactions and prioritizing team efforts
Plan, organize, and drive regional performance to achieve business potential through coaching and influencing direct reports
Establish and maintain effective communication across cross-channel stakeholders in Accounts and Market Access teams
Maintain technical expertise to respond accurately to questions about products, marketing, policies, and business issues from customers and account managers
Ensure direct reports understand and consistently execute established expectations
Mentor and coach Sales Account Managers to improve selling skills, product knowledge, and capabilities; lead by example in live and virtual engagements
Plan and conduct action plans and meetings with Region and Market Access teams
Develop and implement regional business plan, manage regional budget, and oversee P&L at the regional level in alignment with regional and national expectations
Maintain up-to-date understanding of compliance laws, policies, and processes; ensure self and team actions are compliant
Travel overnight as required by business needs
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
5+ years of field leadership experience and/or payer account management and/or demonstrated sales success with increasing responsibility
Pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred, with at least 3–5 years in roles with first-line leadership
Proven track record of leading others to success through coaching and influence
Experience delivering outstanding results and developing others to their potential
Proven ability to attract and retain top talent
Current or recent psychiatry disease experience strongly preferred
Successful launch experience strongly preferred
Experience strategizing within teams using differential resources to achieve business goals
Proven ability to run multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment
Must reside within the territory geography
Comfortable operating in a high-uncertainty, high-expectations environment
Patient support services experience a plus
Strong digital marketing aptitude
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Salary and Benefits The anticipated salary range for this role is $175,000–$205,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply, as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location. Our client offers a competitive employment package that includes an annual bonus, significant equity and a generous benefits package.
