Senior Design Engineer

Copeland . Based in our Sidney, OH office, this role supports the Climate Technologies Division and develops new oil-free compressors. Key Responsibilities
Design parts and assemblies using NX CAD software and manage the data within Teamcenter. Create and verify the accuracy and consistency of engineering drawings and CAD/CAE models in accordance with corporate engineering standards and ASME 14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance requirements. Support Engineering release and create necessary documentation for the ECN process. Support Engineering sample production and create needed process assembly drawings. Collaborate with Engineering Change (ECC) group, Purchasing, Quality and Plants to ensure the design release meets stakeholders’ needs. Establish and document component and assembly specifications including geometry, materials, allowable tolerances, and related manufacturing processes. Provide support to engineering labs, manufacturing facilities, Supplier Quality, Procurement, and Advanced Manufacturing. Verify design intent by checking proper fit-up of components using CAD and tolerance stack-up analysis methods. Who You Are
Action Oriented Collaborates Communicated Effectively Nimble Learning Decision Quality Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or similar engineering field. Minimum of five years’ design experience with rotating machinery or relevant industry experience. Experience producing CAD models for design layouts, tolerance calculations, GD&T, assemblies, sub-assemblies and components as well as technical drawings for prototype and production components. Experience with 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, Siemens Teamcenter, SolidWorks and others. Create comprehensive technical documentation, including assembly plans, part and assembly drawings, parts lists, and specifications, using CAD, ERP systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Experience in creation of DFMEA/PFMEA and control plans Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical challenges. Ability to plan, organize, and execute design projects effectively. Able and willing to collaborate with a global design team on an as-needed basis.
